Waikiki Aquarium Field Trip

A large yellow school bus picked up our BWA members and family at the temple for a joyous field trip to the Waikiki Aquarium.  Excursions had been on hold for 2 years due to the pandemic and it was wonderful to finally be on an adventure together. We wore our brand new BWA T-shirts.

The Aquarium’s self-guided tour took about an hour. The colorful and educational exhibits included coral, reef fish, jelly fish, and sharks.

Before returning to the temple, we took a short walk to Kaimana Beach where a Hawaiian monk seal and her pup have been in residence.  Upon return to the temple, we had a light lunch in the social hall.

Our connection to the Waikiki Aquarium was established in 2021.  Among the items donated for the 2020 rummage sale was a life-like figure of a turtle.  The rummage sale was canceled to comply with pandemic restrictions.  The turtle was donated to the Waikiki Aquarium for its educational programs.
