How do I join?

Please contact us for a membership form by filling out the contact form at the top of this page or by emailing BetsuinBWA@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

Do I need to be a temple member to participate?

Although many of our BWA members are also members of the temple, you do not need to be a temple member to participate in the BWA. We want to foster a community that encompasses the diversity of Hawai’i.

How much does it cost?

The annual membership fee is currently $15.00. If you need assistance with this fee, please let us know.

What are the benefits of becoming a BWA member?

BWA members have opportunities to attend group activities and serve the community and our temple. Here are some past events from 2020:

• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Every year we march in the annual MLK Celebration Parade and Rally. In 2021, we made some adjustments and found new ways to commemorate the day.

• COVID-19 Service - We made masks for health care workers during a time when they were in short supply.

• Workshops for our members who were interested in learning the basics of Zoom and similar communication tools were held.

• Messages of support were written and sent to more than 700 temple members and we sought reflections from our community.

• Year End Celebration - At the end of each year we come together in appreciation.

• If you enjoyed our shop, BWA members are given early access to preview upcoming Market items.

The most important benefit in becoming a member is the opportunity to create long lasting friendships while connecting with the temple sangha. In whatever way you choose to participate, you’ll give and receive aloha as well as our deepest gratitude.
