Working on BWA Covid19 Reflection book

In the early days of the pandemic I watched Michael Jackson's "We Are the World"  and "Heal the World" on YouTube repeatedly.  It generated a spark to do something constructive rather than be consumed by the horror of the corona virus pandemic.  Face Book, e-mails, and phone calls helped me to keep in touch with friends and family.  The lockdown provided time to do  things that were set aside, like cleaning up and organizing my computer files.

Covid-19 has taken me on a journey of sadness, frustration, anger, negativity and helplessness.  A Dharmagram message said, " In both good times and difficult times, we are always together with Amida Buddha’s Compassion."  Buddhism has taught me to become aware and to look at life "as it is"..to think positively.

“Because of my interest in photography, for many years I have captured  precious unrepeatable moments with my camera.  Technology has expanded my computer experiences.  On line Sunday Services by State Ministers Association helped me to deal with my anxieties.  I was able to connect with people for meetings such as BWA committee meetings on Zoom.”

Gumyocho is a two-headed bird that resembles a pheasant that represents "interdependence of all humans on one another." Each bird must coexist in peace for survival. During Covid-19 pandemic the concept of Ichigo Ichie reminds us to treasure the unrepeatable nature of a moment as Buddha's wisdom and compassion embraces us always.
